Kitulo National Park

Kitulo National Park

Kitulo National Park, also known as the “Garden of God”, is located in southern Tanzania on the Kitulo Plateau within the southern highlands. Covering about 413 square kilometers, it is Tanzania’s first national park established primarily for its flora, rather than large mammals. The park is famous for its stunning alpine meadows, rolling grasslands, and wildflower displays, making it one of the most beautiful and unique landscapes in the country.

Kitulo is home to over 350 plant species, including many orchids and endemic flowers, and serves as an important habitat for birds, small mammals, and butterflies. It is also a key conservation area for montane species, with some species found nowhere else in the world. The park’s cooler climate, high elevation, and lush scenery offer a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and photographers.
